What this policy covers
This policy distinguishes a refund to the original payment source from an internal return of unused task budget to an Employer’s Deposit Wallet. It also covers unsuccessful payouts and requests to investigate payment errors. Read it with the Payment Policies, Escrow Policy, and Terms of Service.
Delivered services and completed payments
A correctly approved work reward, a consumed promotion, or another service already supplied is not normally refundable simply because a user changes their mind or is disappointed by commercial results. This does not apply where the service was not supplied as agreed, a payment was duplicated or unauthorised, or applicable law requires a remedy. A refund decision must consider the recorded transaction and evidence.
Why some charges cannot be reversed
Task rewards pay for completed work, while a promotion purchases exposure for the confirmed period rather than a guaranteed number of workers or sales. Payment providers may incur processing costs. These factors can affect an eligible refund calculation, but a provider charge or administrative cost must not be used to override a mandatory consumer right.
Deposit balances and unused task funding
An Employer deposit is intended for task budgets and enabled platform purchases. It is not the Freelancer Earnings Wallet and does not enable the Freelancer cashout workflow. When a task ends or is cancelled under the available controls, an eligible unused budget can return to the Deposit Wallet after outstanding submissions and approved rewards are accounted for. That ledger credit is not an automatic bank refund. Contact support to request an eligible original-source refund.
Disagreements about work
An Employer should assess proof against the requirements that were visible when the task was accepted. A Freelancer should preserve the instructions and submitted evidence. Ask support to review an unfair rejection, a missing reward, or a task whose requirements changed. Identify the task and submission; do not threaten another user or demand payment outside Microincome.
Closing or restricting an account
Account closure does not automatically erase legitimate earned balances or paid obligations. Outstanding work, refunds, chargebacks, and security reviews must be resolved before a final settlement where applicable. A restriction may temporarily prevent transactions while evidence is examined; suspension alone is not a blanket forfeiture of lawful funds.
Suspected fraud or unauthorised payments
Report an unknown payment promptly to Microincome and the payment provider. We may restrict the relevant transaction or account, check ownership and records, and cooperate with lawful requests. Verified fraudulent credits can be reversed with an appropriate record. Genuine transactions and a person’s statutory dispute rights must be considered separately.
Errors and exceptional refund requests
- Duplicate debits for the same intended purchase.
- A settled payment that was not credited or a platform error that prevented the paid service.
- A charge that you did not authorise, supported by the available evidence.
- A refund or correction required by applicable law or the confirmed purchase terms.
Raise the issue as soon as possible. Include the payment reference, date, amount, method, and the service affected. Provider reporting deadlines may apply; a support request does not extend those deadlines.
Chargebacks and payment-provider disputes
Contact support when practical so we can investigate quickly. You retain the right to contact your bank or payment provider. A disputed transaction may need a temporary review or balance adjustment, with reasons and evidence. Deliberately false disputes or duplicate recovery attempts are prohibited; exercising a genuine legal right is not, by itself, a policy violation.
Refund method and tracking
An approved external refund is normally sent through the original payment channel when supported. Provider and bank processing times vary; support will explain the route, amount, and known status. A reversal must not create a second refund for the same payment. Failed or rejected Freelancer withdrawal requests restore the recorded wallet deduction when confirmed under the payout workflow.
Policy changes and required remedies
We will publish revisions here with an updated date. Material changes will be communicated through an appropriate platform notice. Changes to a price or fee apply to future confirmations; an already funded task remains subject to its recorded requirements and applicable law.
Nothing in this policy removes a right, refund, remedy, or complaint process that applicable law makes mandatory. A platform review does not prevent you from contacting a payment provider, regulator, consumer authority, or competent court.
